Amazing Life and Travels

Personal blog to share my travels, my photography, my glam bags, my free samples, my family, my thoughts...my life.

Oh Europe…

Travelling abroad…going on holiday…vacation… These words are all music to my ears.  In just a few short weeks my family and I will be doing just that and I am over the moon excited!  I have always wanted to take a tour of Europe and then go back to individual places later to experience them in depth.  Let me tell you…we are doing just that!

Here is our itinerary for the 2 and a half week trip:

Copenhagen, Denmark

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Edinburgh, Scotland

Glasgow, Scotland

Cardiff, Wales

London, England

Paris, France

Berlin, Germany

Copenhagen, Denmark

Bremen, Germany

So here we are at T-minus 34 days.  We have all the vacation rentals in place and have started making sure that we have entrance ticket, ferry tickets, underground tickets (ok yeah we have a lot of different tickets) in place.  We have our map program for driving around and in between all of these places and the ever important list of foods we must eat while we are there!

London, England

The hubby is currently in the process of learning basic conversational French and I am still putting together lists of things to research, things to buy and lists of things to not forget.  Yes, an extreme (and almost crazy) amount of time has gone into planning this trip to make it as fun and easy for us as possible!

 Paris, France

The ipsyofficial “Beauty Rocks” glambag and the”Rainy Days” birchbox came in the mail today!!! So many new things to play with…I dunno where to even start!

Urban Decay 24/7 velvet eyeliner, Cailyn lip balm, St Tropez gradual tan, Such a Tease lashes and City Color eye mousse came in the Ipsy Glambag.

Fekkai shampoo, Gilchrist & Soames body wash, Sumita eyeliner, Hello by Harvey Prince perfume and Kind Bar maple pumpkin seed snack came in the Birchbox.

What a line up for this month!!

Jicama is a pretty interesting thing.  It has the texture of a regular baking potato but is kind of sweet like a sweet potato.  I purchased some at the store recently with the intent to see if they could be cut and baked like fries.  I found a recipe online and decided to give it a try!
I cut the fries with a fry cutter and coated them with coconut oil and various spices.  I lined a pan with foil and arranged the fries out flat for cooking.  I used a pretty large cookie sheet for the amount that I had cut.  The oven preheated to 400 degrees and the fries went into the oven.  I do not remember how long exactly they cooked but it was in the neighborhood of 45-60 minutes.  The recipe called for 35-45 but I kept an eye a cooked them until the friend darkened and the centers softened up.  Now I have to forewarn you that they do not get soft like a regular fry but the do become mostly soft but still slightly firm.
